New service aimed at assisting software developers secure funding for future projects.

Software developers across all areas could benefit from FundaGeek’s new Software Development Portal, a new service aimed at assisting software developers secure funding for projects.

The use of the funds can be extremely varied. For instance, software start-ups can post a crowdfunding campaign on the portal to raise funds for building prototypes, while a games company can fund the release of a new title.

Daniel D. Gutierrez, CEO and co-founder of FundaGeek, said: “Software developers constitute a very important beneficiary of the crowdfunding ecosystem. We here at FundaGeek all come from a software background and we know full well how important a new funding option is to counteract today’s budget constraints. With FundaGeek, we hope to provide a vehicle for funding software projects of all types.”

Crowdfunding is a funding method that utilises the power of crowds via social media. Through social networks, software developers can solicit personal donations in order to fund the budget of their projects. With crowdfunding, the required funds are raised by offering ‘rewards’ in exchange for ‘pledges’.

“We are very excited about the launch of our new software development portal as one of our early goals for our crowdfunding platform consistently has been to help innovative technologists. We are very committed to the global software development community,” concluded Gutierrez.
