Friendster goes mobile

Web-based social network Friendster has launched a free global mobile site.

m.friendster.com is accessible from any web-enabled mobile device, and will be the first in a suite of upcoming mobile offerings from ‘Friendster Mobile'. Members can use it to get updates on friends, check messages, review requests, post shoutouts, browse photos, browse profiles, search for users by name or email, view birthdays, read horoscopes, and post bulletins.

Friendster claims to have 70 million users around the globe, and is especially popular in the Far East. It’s launched the mobile site in English but will localise for multiple languages starting with Indonesian.
