Amazon to take e-reader to Android and Windows devices.
It's a logical move, given that Amazon long ago ceased to see Kindle as a hardware product and began to market it as a platform accessible across multiple devices.
Thus, Kindle is an app for iPhone, Android and other mobile OSs, and is also top ten free app for iPad.
Like all Kindle products, the new apps built for Android and Windows tablet computers will extend the idea of “Buy Once, Read Everywhere”.
The e-reader space is rampant at the moment, with Amazon confirming its Kindle device is now its all-time best-selling product.
Forrester has predicted that $966 million of e-books were sold in the US in 2010.
