iPhone app will help fans release their inner Statto with 2011-12 Premier League metrics.
British football magazine FourFourTwo has teamed up with statistical provider Opta for a new iPhone app: FourFourTwo Football Stats Zone.
The app is free to download with Opta's Premier League statistics from last season, but users pay £2.49 via in-app payment to receive updated stats from the just-started 2011-12 season.
What stats? Every pass, tackle, shot, foul and assist, with the ability to compare individual players or teams, and analyse how matches evolve after key incidents like goals and sending offs. There are also social features to share data via Twitter, Facebook and email.
The app is published by FourFourTwo's parent company Haymarket. It's not the first app from the magazine though: its FourFourTwo Planet Football app was released in April this year, focusing on news, blog posts and mini-games.
The new app is one of a cluster of applications released for the new Premier League season. Last week, the league's sponsor Barclays launched its own iPhone and Android app offering live match-day reports and stats.
