Apples are not the only fruit.

The Apple App Store will soon be given a new Food & Drink category, giving a home to all those recipe and restaurant-finder apps.

At the moment there is no specific category for these apps and they are simply listed under Lifestyle. Apple does have a custom Cooking section, but this only showcases handpicked applications.

According to Apple the new category will include: “apps that help users cook and bake, mix drinks, manage recipes, find new restaurants and bars, and learn what their friends like to eat and drink”.

However, Food & Drink won’t include apps dedicated to diets or food shopping or food-related games.

The new category will appear “in the next few weeks”.
