Flycell revs up 90 per cent in Q1

D2C firm earned $39.8m in Q1 2010 against $20.9 million in Q1 2009.

The Acotel-owned company, which is based in Italy but has a strong presence in the US, is profitable and has launched a series of new services in the last 12 months.

It opened Gamorama, a new casual games portal, and moved into Argentina for the first time. It's the ninth country in which Flycell opens its mobile content portal.

It's also opened for business in South Africa.

“We are beginning our sixth year in business by aggressively expanding in multiple directions,” said Alberto Montesi, CEO of Flycell.

“Throughout 2010 Flycell will continue to find creative ways to maximize the entertainment possibilities on mobile phones around the world, even as we look to expand into new forms of online entertainment and new geographic markets.”
