UK social networking pioneer makes its first move into the app space.

The app is available for free at the Apple iTunes Store. It takes 20 seconds for users to set up a profile and start chatting.  Users can also search over 1.8 million profiles, find people who live nearby and search by gender, age, interests, and flirting preference.

It's a significant move for the firm, which has built a successful and acclaimed business based on the mobile browser. Flirtomatic’s paying users spend on average over $10 per month on premium services, yielding more money per spending user than any other online social network.

Although, users can chat for free, they can also pay for Flirtpoints that let them buy premium services. The firm recently launched user-generated advertising in the Look At Me section, where they bid in real-time auctions, 24 hours a day, to get more attention than any rivals.

“Customers have told us they want to flirt everywhere and anywhere,” said Mark Curtis, CEO of Flirtomatic.  “We already have a web presence and partnerships with major carriers around the world.  Now we are taking flirting to the world’s most talked-about smart phone.  We’re excited about the application and hope that customers can go global with their flirting.”
