Potentially pushing 650m monthly 'flips' up to 2bn.
Originally launched for the iPad, Flipboard transforms newsfeeds from the likes of Facebook and Twitter into a flippable magazine.
Flipboard says it has received one million downloads since the release of its iPhone version last week, which is also compatible with the iPod Touch.
While the iPad version was receiving approximately 650 million page flips per month, the iPhone version (with the help of the Touch) is set to bring this up to two billion flips per month, according to paidContent.
Apple's iPad continues to ride high in the world of tablets, however Flipboard for iPhone was specifically designed to provide fast use for those on the move.
One of the noticeable methods of achieving this was changing the tablet's sideswipe feature to move pages into an upwards scrolling option.

That said, the small screen means users can only access one page at a time and will need to flip more than the iPad, which displays numerous article summaries at a time, hence the large difference in flip figures.
Either way, the popularity for the app is obvious and reports also say that the service crashed on launch day on both platforms from an overload of downloads.
