Flash iPhone ads now 50% of Greystripe's revenues

And it's expecting to run 100 campaigns a month this year.

Greystripe's days as an ad-supported mobile games firm seem a long way away now.

The company says 50% of its revenues in Q4 last year came from Flash-based ads delivered on iOS devices using its Lightning Technology platform.

Greystripe says these ads reached 30 million iOS users last year, thanks to more than 300 campaigns from the likes of Buick, Corona, Axe and Burger King.

The company says it expects to run 1,200 of these campaigns in 2011, as it helps advertisers get around the lack of native Flash support on iPhone and iPad.

"Although we fully support HTML5, we have had only one advertiser choose to develop a creative in HTML5 when given the option of using Flash," says marketing director Dane Holewinski.

"A lot of brands don’t want to spend tens of thousands of dollars to create an HTML5 creative when they have the option to use Greystripe’s Lightning Technology to create and deliver rich media ads across mobile platforms for free."
