Fishlabs nets Player X deal

3D mobile games developer Fishlabs has secured distribution with Player X in Europe, Asia and South America.

It's the second such agreement in a week for Germany-based Fishlabs, which has also secured carriage on Sony Ericsson's Fun & Downloads portal.

The latest deal deal sees Player X acquire exclusive distribution rights to games including IMGA-short listed Blades & Magic, Galaxy on Fire, Planet Riders, Heli Strike, Burning Tires, Tank Raid and Deep, the latter of which will debut later this month.

Player X will announce three further Fishlabs games towards the end of 3Q07

Fishlabs CEO Michael Schade said: "Since more operators now outsource their mobile game needs, it’s vital for any content provider to find a distribution partner with as many direct channels as possible. Player X was our first choice to partner with because of their impressive list of global distribution channels and its highly professional in-house team."

Player X CEO Tony Pearce added: "We deliberately work with only a small number of content providers so we can ensure the best possible service for their quality products. Fishlabs’ 3D games are some of the best out there and we’re looking forward to taking these titles to gamers all around the planet."

The news follows Player X's recent moves in ramping up its presence in the mobile games market by partnering with companies such as Sky TV and EMI Music and extending its relationship with FremantleMedia by adding a PrizePlay element to games like Family Fortunes and The Price Is Right.

The Player X distribution footprint encompasses 110 operators around the world.
