Physics-based puzzler targeted at casual gamers.
Microsoft and Nokia announced an €18m AppCampus initiative back in March to encourage app downloads to Windows Phones, while €1m of the cash pile was used to support 30 developers.
Developer Tuliotus has found its physics-based puzzler, Haunted, as the first app to be released from the project. It's available in two versions on Windows Phone 7 and 8; a free trial and full version for €2.
Kimo Boissonier, CEO of Tuliotus, said: "High quality user experience and use of logic is what sets us apart from many games in a similar genre. This is not a traditional dungeon game, where you solve conflict with weapons. Instead, the player makes creative use of chains, torches, iron balls and anything else he finds to complete the puzzle."
More than 1,500 apps were submitted by developers from 85 different countries since the scheme went live in May. 60 titles have been accepted so far; 25 per cent are games, 15 per cent are educational and ten per cent are in entertainment.
Pekka Sivonen, head of AppCampus, said: "Games represent more than 50 per cent of global app revenues, which is why we are very pleased to address this part of the playing field first.
"Haunted is a great example of innovation and creativity combined with quality that AppCampus propagates. This is only the beginning: once we get the pipeline going, we’ll be publishing exciting new apps on Windows Phone on an almost weekly basis."
