Spawns Aussie mobile gaming superstudio.
Mobile developer Firemint has spent some of its loot from Flight Control and Real Racing on acquiring fellow Australian studio Infinite Interactive.
Financial terms for the deal have not been disclosed, but the two developers will merge in Firemint's Melbourne office, which was recently expanded.
Infinite Interactive is best known for the Puzzle Quest franchise, which was designed by company founder Steve Fawkner. He also created the Warlords games. Fawkner is taking a product management role at Firemint.
"Steve is an outstanding game designer and our two studios evolved very similar philosophies of developing addictive, fun and polished original games," says Firemint CEO Rob Murray.
"By bringing our studios’ talents together, we will be able to create even more awesome games – and more of them."

The deal bulks Firemint up at a time when indie developers are continuing to find commercial success on Apple's App Store, providing them with a platform to expand to other smartphones, consoles and connected devices.
