Developer of the real Tweetdeck warns users not to pay for it.
Android users have been getting very excited about the official Tweetdeck app this week, after the company released its Twitter app yesterday.
It's in beta, and people wanting to get their hands on the app have to visit a specific page on the Tweetdeck website to get instructions on how to download it.
However, an unscrupulous developer has already taken advantage of that, by trying to sell an app called Tweetdeck on the official Android Market.
"Someone has uploaded a "TweetDeck" app to the Android Market and is charging for it. THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL APP. Do NOT download," tweeted the official Tweetdeck account tonight.
How can someone launch a paid app with the same title as a (presumably fully trademarked) company on the official store? That would be a question for Google.
