Facebook location features? McDonald's is lovin' it...

AdAge claims brands will be a big part of the social network's geo plans.

Facebook's soon-to-launch location platform will have brands on board from the start, claims Advertising Age.

It suggests that the platform may launch this month, and will allow Facebook users to post their current locations via status updates.

It also claims that McDonald's will be building an app for the launch that promotes individual burgers when users check in from one of its outlets.

"While McDonald's is expected to be involved in the rollout in the next few weeks, execs at other digital shops have begun to spec out location-based campaigns in anticipation of Facebook's impending functionality," claims the article.

The check-in element to Facebook's plans may provide a headache for social location services like Foursquare, Gowalla and MyTown - even though these services are also taking advantage of Facebook's social APIs.
