Controversial feature now on version 4.1.
Timeline was introduced in September to show the content and activity that is most important to people, rather than merely presenting updates in chronological order.
It caused much consternation at first.
On mobile, it was available via the Facebook mobile site (m.facebook.com) on the iPhone's Safari browser. Now it's on the app, although the update columns appear on top of each other rather than in two columns.
The iPad version of this update is also in development.
