eyeSight takes gesture recognition to tablets and PCs

Take control of your computer content without touching the screen.

eyeSight's technology uses the device's built-in camera to track the user's hand gestures and convert them into commands.  It does not require any hardware changes or a 3D camera.

Last year, the firm introduced the 'Natural User Interface' for Android mobile devices, and now its doing the same for tablets and PCs based on Android and Windows platforms.

ME has seen the tech in action and it works well. eyeSight has stressed that it works well with use cases such as skipping tracks on a music player while driving, for example, or scanning through pics in a photo gallery.

It's less obvious how it can enhance tablet or PC use.

"Users can remotely control their music and video player, browse through eBooks, manage presentations, play games, control PC apps and carry out many other tasks without touching the keyboard or touchscreen," said Gideon Shmuel, eyeSight's CEO.
