Exclusive: In-Fusio finally goes into liquidation

Troubled mobile games firm is troubled no more, official documents show.

French mobile games publisher In-Fusio has gone into liquidation, seemingly ending the story of one of the giants of the early days of mobile gaming.

Rumours have been buzzing about the company's possible demise after it went into administration last year.

However, the liquidation news was published in the French BODACC (Bulletin officiel des annonces civiles et commerciales) this month, on 14th August.

The ruling (below) reveals the "Jugement prononçant la liquidation judiciaire" (judicial liquidation), with Bordeaux firm Malmezat-Prat appointed to handle the process of disposing of the company's assets.

In-Fusio certainly had a varied history. It was one of the biggest mobile gaming firms in its early days, distributing games through its ExEn platform in France, the UK and other countries.

However, in January 2006 it split its games publishing and distribution divisions, but a potentially lucrative licensing deal for Xbox game Halo ended up in legal acrimony, with In-Fusio suing Microsoft for breach of contract, accusing it of not approving any of the mobile firm's designs.

Then in May 2007 was acquired by fellow European mobile games firm Zenops, as part of a roll-up that also included French firm Filao.

In June 2008, the newly re-rebranded In-Fusio announced a round of financing from Occam Capital to expand its operations.

It was still in the market for game licences, releasing Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, Get Smart, Magnetic Joe 2 and Yeti Sports Games Pack.
