Apple introduced vocal virtual assistant Siri on the iPhone 4S in October and since then we reported Android may be devising its own rival named Majel.
Now UK-based developer True Knowledge has created virtual assistant Evi, which utilises Nuance speech recognition tech for the iPhone version, while the Android version comes without.
Nuance, of course, also provides the core tech behind Siri.
When asked a question, 'she' (as considered by TK) retrieves the info from her database of almost one billion facts, additionally she can retrieve information outside sources such as Amazon and Yelp for real-time updates.
Users are able to ask questions relating to their current location such as the whereabouts of a nearby store.
Questions can be directed to Evi with natural speak as if talking to another person, as opposed to needing specific key phrases and the developers say the more thorough the question, the better the response will be.
Apple's version retails for 69p and the Android version is free.
