They can't beat Beneficia, but they can use iPhone 3.0 features in their official app.
It's no wonder Bright AI has secured a deal to make football apps for more than 80 UK clubs - its new official Everton iPhone app (App Store link) is making innovative use of in-app payments and push notifications.
The app offers news, stats, squad info and live minute-by-minute coverage on match days, as well as ticket information and historical data.
However, it's using push - one of the features that debuted in Apple's iPhone 3.0 software earlier this summer - to ensure users get match events as soon as they happen.
What's more, the Everton app also has an additional subscription layer using in-app payments. Users who stump up can get additional video highlights, match previews, podcasts, photos and wallpapers.
The subscription element costs £0.59 for a week, £2.39 for a month, or £24.99 for a whole year's worth of the extra content.
