iPhone and Android apps offer up-to-the-minute video highlights
Sports broadcaster ESPN is launching iPhone and Android apps in the UK that offer mobile video highlights of goals as they go in.
Paidcontent.org reports that the apps will be free to download, with the video element offered as an added extra for £3.99 a month or £29.99 for the whole year.
ESPN is able to offer the video service having outbid rival broadcaster for BSkyB the rights, which it has for the next three seasons.
ESPN isn't a newcomer to the world of apps - its World Cup app was downloaded more than 2.5 million times this summer, with an average of one million users accessing it each day during the four-week tournament.
