ESPN launches Lumia web emulator

New online feature created to replicate the experience of using the new Windows Phone7 ESPN Hub app.

Last October, ESPN and Nokia announced they would pre-load the ESPN Hub on millions of Lumia handsets. The app provides scores, stats, news, analysis and video highlights for more than a dozen sports.

Now, interested users can see how it looks on the web via thus homepage takeover on various ESPN sites. The move is part of an ad campaign ESPN is delivering for Nokia.

The emulator replicates the trademark WinPho tiles and also pulls in live content from the ESPN.co.uk site.

ESPN Hub launched in the US and UK earlier this year, and in recent months has also launched in South Africa, Chile, Columbia, Brazil and Mexico and Indonesia, with launches later this year in the Philippines, Australia and France, among others.

Bryan Biniak, VP, global partnering & application development at Nokia, said: “Our partnership with ESPN brings together world leaders in sports and mobile, to deliver outstanding, exclusive experiences to Nokia Lumia consumers.

"This cross platform, integrated content publishing and marketing campaign underlines our ability to reach sports fans in new and engaging ways, both on our Nokia Lumia smartphones, and via innovative, joint marketing programs.”
