'Personal Pod Advertising' lets companies offer ads tailored to fit individual tastes.
The service, part of Ericsson's Mobile TV solution, should launch commercially during 2009. It allow advertisements to be sent out as podcasts overnight when traffic is low.
The solution registers choices made by consumers on advertising companies' websites, and creates a personal user profile that mirrors their areas of interest.
Consumers can then receive updates on their favourite brands via text, video or radio ads sent to their mobile phones.
