Enter MIDEM LAB 2011 to get in front of VCs

International music conference targets mobile start-ups in search of funding and publicity.

Reed Midem has opened the call for entries for its MidemNet Lab showcase, which aims to spotlight emerging startups in the digital music space.

Shortlisted companies will get the chance to the opportunity to pitch their projects to a jury comprised of  industry experts and VCs. And they'll get a ton of free PR too.

You have until October 31st to submit your entries. Enter here.

The contest made its debut in January at the MidemNet conference in Cannes, and will return for a second year next January 22nd to 26th.

It's inviting entries from three categories of startups: apps developers, industry services and consumer services.

One winner will be chosen in each by a panel of industry judges and VCs, but all the finalists will be invited to pitch their wares at the MidemNet show.

"MidemNet Lab is a great opportunity for music start-ups and apps developers to find new business partners in the music industry, to take their business to the next level and get noticed by investors," says Midem director Dominque Leguern.

Apps firm TuneWiki was showcased in this year's event, where it unveiled its yet-to-launch mobile music game. TuneWiki  raised millions in Series B funding by investors in
the immediate aftermath of MIDEM 2010.
