TV giant Endemol has sold its Overloaded wireless game publishing subsidiary to the Mobile Media Company for an undisclosed sum.
Overloaded has made its name with branded content such as Funky Cops and projects for the likes of sports equipment manufacturer Adidas.
The Dutch company distributes its games in 23 countries through 42 network operators, in addition to direct-to-consumer channels.
Commenting on the deal, MMC CEO Karsten Hauge said: “We’re already starting to see the growth of new, interactive, mobile-based gaming communities through the launch of next generation networks such as 3G. Mobile gaming is an excellent stepping stone for Mobile Media to offer other advanced mobile content and services to customers.”
MMC says that Overloaded will maintain its working relationship with Endemol in terms of IP licensing.
