eBay will soon launch a BlackBerry application that integrates with the BlackBerry calendar and push notifications system.
It was shown off for the first time at the BlackBerry Developers Conference in San Francisco today.
The app lets users search for items and browse their details, complete with a carousel-style interface for looking at photos of items.
However, the big news is the way the app ties into RIM's push technology and the calendar: users can automatically add a reminder to their BlackBerry calendar of the deadline for an item.
Meanwhile, they will also be sent alerts direct to their inbox when being outbid, with links to fire up the app again to rebid if they want to. This, along with the LinkedIn app shown off earlier, are good examples of how RIM's newly-announced services are being used by developers.
