Online marketplace predicts $5bn in sales via mobile for 2011.
The e-retailer's payment platform PayPal experienced its largest ever Cyber Monday for mobile payments with a six-fold growth to hit 552 per cent.
With results like that, it's no surprise eBay feels confident about its mobile payments reaching $5 billion by the end of the year.
In 2010, worldwide eBay sales via mobile notched up $2 billion in sales, which more than triples the $600 million made in 2009.
eBay has said more than one million item listings are made each week through the mobile platform. That sounds reasonable, given that the firm has had it's app downloaded over 50 million times globally.
600,000 new eBay customers made their first buy via an app during the first half of the year, having never used the site before demonstrating the vast adoption of the service.

The firm recently took to the in-store market with an opening on a pop-up shop at Oxford Street, London.
Shoppers can't make payments with that cash stuff though as the shop was launched to promote m-payments. Thus, buyers must use their phones to make a purchase via QR code, which redirects them to eBay's checkout.
The shop's five-day run comes ahead of 'Super Sunday', which is the biggest e-commerce day of the year.
eBay says it expects to receive more than five million visitors on Sunday providing the company with more than 30 purchases per second, almost double the average 16 in 2010.
Furthermore, the company also predicts the number of transactions completed via smartphones will reach two per second, doubling last year's efforts.
