Porting specialist unveils tools for converting iPhone apps to other platforms.
Mobile Distillery has combined its software solutions, Alembic and Celsius, to create a system for converting iPhone to Java ME phones and other platforms such as BREW, Windows Mobile and Google Android. It gives Apple developers the potential to reach billions of subscribers using mid and low end handsets.“The iPhone has shown tremendous success and is a hit with developers, but they also need to reach a much larger share of the one billion handsets that are sold every year,” said Eric Lemarechal, CEO of Mobile Distillery. The firm’s Alembic knowledge database contains 1,300 fully tested characteristics of more than 1,000 handsets.
