Electronic Arts claims the global mobile games market will be worth $3.4 billion this year, rising to $4.5 billion in 2013.
This year, the publisher sees $1.7 billion of mobile games revenues being generated in Asia - this is the whole market, not just EA - with $0.7 billion in Europe and $1 billion in the US.
EA has also broken down the $1.7 billion of US and European revenues this year, predicting that $1 billion will come from smartphones, and $0.7 billion from feature phones.
By 2013, it sees $1.8 billion of the $2.3 billion of US/European mobile games revenues coming from smartphones, and just $0.5 billion from feature phones.
These predictions are important, because they undercut by a considerable margin what analysts have been saying.

As PocketGamer.biz points out, Gartner recently predicted $5.6 billion of mobile games revenues in 2010, rising to $11.4 billion in 2012.
Meanwhile, Juniper claims mobile games generated $6 billion of revenues in 2009, rising to $11 billion by 2015.
