Smartphone sales not making up for legacy business drop?
Games publisher Electronic Arts made $49 million in GAAP net revenues in its fiscal Q2 2011, which ran from July to September.
That's down both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter. In its Q2 last year, EA Mobile generated $51 million of revenues, while in its Q1 this year, it made $52 million.
Mobile now accounts for 8% of the publisher's overall revenues, though, up from 6% this time last year.
EA did not give further details about why its mobile growth has stalled, despite its games regularly featuring near the top of the App Store's Top Grossing chart.
One reason could be that the company's legacy mobile business - carrier decks - is shrinking faster than its smartphone sales are growing, as users upgrade their handsets.

EA also confirmed in its earnings call last night that it paid $17 million for iPhone publisher Chillingo, in its acquisition last month.
The deal also includes an additional $12 million if Chillingo meets set targets over the next three years, bringing the potential total value of the deal to $29 million.
