EA remains noncommital on Windows Phone 7

EA remains noncommital on Windows Phone 7

'Nothing to announce right now'.

Electronic Arts is not announcing any launch games for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 smartphone OS for now, says the publisher.

EA's omission from a list of 63 launch games published yesterday by Microsoft was puzzling, given the inclusion of rivals like Gameloft, Glu, Namco Bandai and Digital Chocolate.

ME contacted EA Mobile, and the company provided this statement in response:

"We are constantly evaluating new platforms and opportunities, but have nothing to announce right now."

As we noted yesterday, EA may be simply keeping its PR powder dry for its own Windows Phone 7 announcement, rather than see its games revealed in a big list of dozens of others.

However, all eyes will be on Microsoft's WinPho 7 store when the first handsets go on sale, to see if EA is represented or not.
