Working on solution to relaunch social mobile game soon.

Electronic Arts has pulled the iPhone version of its social game FIFA Superstars from the App Store, after players experienced problems playing the connected game.

The game started life on Facebook, where it currently has just under 2.8 million monthly active users. In late August, a standalone iPhone version was launched on the App Store, but swiftly disappeared again.

ME asked EA what had happened, and the publisher has provided this statement.

"We are currently experiencing server issues with FIFA Superstars mobile that have required us to temporarily take the game down. This is not a data security-related issue. We are implementing a solution that will ensure users have the best gameplay experience, and will provide an update soon as to when the game will be live again."

The publisher stresses that FIFA Superstars for Facebook is not affected by these issues, and remains available to play.
