EA Mobile revenue up 33 per cent

Electronic Arts' mobile unit rakes in $44m during the company's fiscal 1Q, up 33 per cent YoY.

The buoyant performance means mobile now accounts for 5.47 per cent of EA's total revenues, which came in at $804 million for the quarter.

That five per cent may not sound like a lot, but a quick look though the accounts shows that it's more than the revenues EA generated from Nintendo DS ($21 million) and slightly less than revs from PSP ($57 million).

EA has already said that it will release eight mobile games over the next three months.

Big rival Gameloft posted 2Q08 revenue of $40 million and 1H revs of $78 million last week.
