Taking on Tap Tap Revenge for the hearts of App Store music gamers.
It may not be officially announced until later today, but EA Mobile is set to bring console franchise Rock Band to iPhone and iPod touch.
The news was teased in a tweet on the EA Mobile Twitter account last night, promising "some big news from the EA Mobile camp being announced tomorrow morning".
However, tech blog MobileCrunch has been wandering the showfloor at CTIA, and spotted a demo showreel of EA Mobile games, complete with a screenshot of Rock Band for iPhone / iPod touch.
Its post follows up with the news that there will be downloadable tracks, and a multiplayer Bluetooth mode for up to four players.
The news is no surprise, given EA's earlier launch of Rock Band Mobile with US carrier Verizon Wireless: taking the series to iPhone is the logical next step.
