Latest of its big console brands to make the jump to the App Store.

EA Mobile has announced that it is working on an iPhone version of Mirror's Edge, one of its big own-IP console titles from the last year.

The game is due for release on the App Store in January, and will feature 14 levels of acrobatic city-leaping action.

It swaps the 3D perspective of the original game for a third-person viewpoint, but early screenshots appear to show no expense is being spared in production values.

Mirror's Edge will continue EA's policy of bringing its big console brands to iPhone - it recently hit the App Store with the transatlantic double-whammy of FIFA and Madden.

However, the new game may also raise the ire of Edge Games and its boss Tim Langdell, which has been waging trademark war on two iPhone games with Edge in their titles - Edge and Killer Edge Racing.

EA Mobile's parent company has already joined battle with Langdell with a petition seeking to have his trademarks cancelled.
