'E For All' games show set for LA

The mobile games industry has a new US consumer games show at which to hawk its wares. It's called the Entertainment for All Expo and it's taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre in October.

The event is scheduled to run from Thursday October 18th to Saturday October 20th at the former home of the now defunct E3 trade-only games show.

Given that E3 had become a key place to do business in the mobile games calendar, the new event could give mobile operators, handset makers and publishers a rare chance to show off to the gaming public.

E for All Expo will offer consumers the opportunity to test-drive the latest in games and gadgetry, as well as purchase products they enjoyed over the course of the 3-day event at on-site retail facilities, according to show organiser IDG.

Additional attractions are in the works, including high-profile videogame tournaments, a job fair and networking opportunities.

Executive vice president of IDG World Expo Mary Dolaher said: “We’ve witnessed a growing demand for a consumer-focused interactive entertainment show these last few years – both from consumers and from the industry. E for All Expo will offer an unprecedented opportunity for people who share a passion for games to try before they buy – and to interact with the people who created them."
