Getting and gifting delicious doughy delights is made more mobile.
Dunkin' Donuts has released its first-ever mobile app for iPhone, iPod touch, and Android smartphones.
The app lets users pay for goods using their device by purchasing a digital Dunkin' Donuts card or loading an existing one. The card can then be topped up using all the usual credit/debit cards.
When customers are ready to pay, they open the app which presents a QR code for the cashier to scan.
Users can also send mobile gift cards to each other via the app. Users can send a gift card up to $100 to a friend via Facebook, email or text message.
Similar to other apps already in use by the likes of Subway and Starbucks, most of Dunkin's 7,000 US locations will accept the app.
The app is available for free in the App Store and Google Play.
