Next month's Mobile World Congress exhibition in Barcelona will feature the inaugural App Planet event. This will be a showcase of all that's new and innovative in the world of mobile applications.

It will take place during Mobile World Congress on Monday to Wednesday between 9:00 to 19:00, and on Thursday from 9:00 to 16:00 in the show's traditional home for mobile content – Hall 7.

App Planet highlights include:

* App Developer conferences
A series of sessions designed to give developers news and technology updates from some of the major platform providers. Google has joined RIM, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone, and the Wireless Industry Partnership.
   
* App-Focused Exhibition
Showcasing the newest and most innovative apps technology from players across the mobile ecosystem.
   
* App Lounge
A networking area within App Planet for attendees and developers to relax, meet with fellow attendees, and catch up on the day's news via media partner and sponsor publications.
   
* App Garage
Keep abreast of the cutting-edge GSMA initiatives in the mobile applications space
