Domino's reveals Foursquare success

Pizza chain attributes profits rise to social media initiatives

Domino's Pizza UK has just posted pre-tax profits up 26 per cent at $26 million, adding that its social media marketing and a Foursquare promotion contributed to it's performance.

Speaking in the company's earnings release, Domino's Chris Moore revealed that 32.7 per cent of its orders now come from the web. He added that the company's Facebook site has 36,000 members and highlighted its affiliate marketing schemes, superfans programme and a Foursquare link-up.

The latter works by offering free pizzas to 'mayors' of its stores, which people that 'check-in' rewarded with a free side order.
