Touch-based and 'gesture' web app hits milestone in under two years.
Most mobile owners utilise the native browser that comes built-in to their devices, but this hasn’t stopped some downloadable browsers such as Opera and Bolt achieving significant installations.
Indeed, Opera Mini has been downloaded over 130m times.
Now, the Dolphin web app is joining this group with more than 10 million users.
Mobile tech developer MoboTap created Dolphin for Android devices but it has recently seen a launch onto iOS to broaden its reach into the market.
The firm claims it's the "world's first gesture and webzine-based browser". It allows users to create unique 'gestures', which when performed will redirect them to the corresponding page the gesture has been saved to.

Its webzine feature lets users display a web pages content in magazine form listing the content as a serious of articles. It also caches content to be available offline.
In a savvy move to celebrate the milestone Dolphin launched a competition offering US residents the chance to win a trip to the Walt Disney Dolphin Hotel. Users were required to download the Dolphin browser and tweet their entries, which will have provided mass coverage across the social network and of course more users.
