So say the guys who make the displays.
Sriram Peruvemba, CMO of E-Ink Holdings, told the Emerging Display Technologies conference that demand for its displays could hit 25 million to 30 million units this year.
That’s about three times the number sold in 2010.
Last year, E Ink Holdings generated $650 million, but could go past $1 billion this year.
Of course, the e-reader market is mostly about the Kindle, whose sales have tripled every year since 2006. But others including the Nook are establishing themselves too.
The screens used in the E Ink displays use less power than the liquid crystal displays in laptops and tablets, but are unsuitable for video and respond slightly slower.

It's believed many e-reader makers are looking at new colour techs that can do video and still minimise power consumption such as Qualcomm's Mirasol.
