Adds pre-teen social network to growing roster of new media acquisitions
Togetherville appears to mimic the functions of established social networks, but does so in an an age-appropriate environment.
Parents can moderate who their children are connecting with, approve friends, and befriend other parents using Facebook’s social graph.
It sounds like the perfect way to deny your children any freedom or self-determination, and thereby keep them infantilised for longer.
Children can play games and watch videos on Togetherville, and create “neighborhoods” from Facebook friends through School Communities.
The purchase by Disney was revealed by TechCrunch, which noticed Disney's name on the site’s terms of service.
