Joins for push towards 'gapless' cross-platform social games future.
Digital Chocolate has announced that David Fox has joined the company in a vice president role.
Fox was one of the co-founders of casual games firm iWin, helping to build franchises like Jewel Quest, before piloting the company's move into social games.
While his exact role is unclear at this point, it seems he'll be helping DChoc CEO Trip Hawkins on the next stage of his company's evolution from mobile games publisher to something more ambitious.
Or, as Fox puts it on his blog, describing Hawkins' sales pitch for the new job:
"A story that involved not just entrenching and building off their social game momentum but pulling back a bit, looking future-ward, and thinking through bigger, badder, gapless ways that social networks, smartphones, TV, and the wider web itself can work in concert to give the world broader connected gameplay and deeper story."

While still active in iPhone and other mobile devices, Digital Chocolate has grown its Facebook games business fast in the last 12-18 months.
Fox will be part of the next push. "We expect him to be instrumental in our push towards the destiny of the game industry: cross-platform, cross-region, interoperable social games that are free to play with virtual goods," blogs Hawkins.
