Cash will drive forward future plans for mobile apps as an entertainment source.
Handmade's flagship platform, Flirtomatic, is a dating app that runs across mobile, tablets, web and social media, which boasts over five million users.
Now, entertainment fun Edge Performance VCT has invested £2 million into Handmade's cash pot.
Neil Goldberg, CEO, Handmade Mobile, said: "We are delighted to have secured investment from Edge Performance VCT. Edge's real understanding of the entertainment business adds considerable value to Handmade’s future plans."
David Fisher, investment manager of Edge, said: "Handmade Mobile is making waves in one of today's most exciting new entertainment markets – mobile apps. We are impressed by the quality of the company's management and believe Flirtomatic is the first of string of new products."
Additionally, Fisher will join Handmade's board as part of the investment.

Handmade recently continued its quest to unite single hearts with development of the Take Me Out app, a mobile equivalent of ITV's Saturday night dating show.
