German broadcaster enlists Rubbberduck to power direct-to-consumer service.
Visitors to mobile.dw-world.de users can now access TV and radio shows from the Deutsche Welle archives, in addition to made-for-mobile programming.The service can be used regardless of operator, though viewers will have to pay for data costs.
Rubberduck Media Lab’s platform Studio: 1 is behind the video on demand service and allows the content to be sent over 3G or EDGE networks.
The company already operate similar services for broadcasters including the BBC and NRK.
Miguel Silva, sales and marketing director at Rubberduck Media Lab, said: "We are proud to launch this cooperation with Deutsche Welle and also to expand our customer portfolio among public broadcasters."
