Deloitte buys Ubermind

Deloitte buys Ubermind

Consulting behemoth swoops for Seattle-based mobile app company.

The news was broken by GeekWire, which put the deal in the range of $40 million to $50 million.

For that outlay, Deloitte gets a developer that employs about 200 people and makes apps for Alaska Airlines, Amtrak, Apple and others.

Janet Foutty, national managing director, technology, at Deloitte Consulting, said: “From the boardroom to the living room, and everywhere in between, the next-generation enterprise is upon us.

“Fusing the art and science of emerging technologies is revolutionising our clients’ businesses—as well as our own.

"The acquisition combines the creative and technical strengths of both organizations to bring depth and scale to digital strategy, design, engineering and integration for the marketplace.”

Deloitte buying Ubermind is not of great surprise due to the recent explosion and demand of applications. Mobile apps are high in demand and almost every brand is now trying to introduce and implement a mobile app as part of their mobile strategy.
