David Gosen leaves Microsoft role

Mobile vet will now "explore new opportunities outside of the company”.

David Gosen has stepped down from his position as VP of strategic marketing within Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business in Europe, reports MCV.

Gosen joined Microsoft to help build its casual games business in March 2008, but will now “explore new opportunities outside of the company”.

Prior to Microsoft he enjoyed a long stint at mobile games publisher I-play, first as COO, then CEO and finally president, having overseen the company's acquisition by Oberon in June 2007.

Before I-play he held the post of managing director at Nintendo Europe.
