Zed has slamdunked its D2C rivals after clinching a deal with the NBA.
The firm will manage the distribution of video highlights, casual games, community platforms, wallpapers and ring tones for the basketball association. It will integrate offerings into its existing mobile channels and represent the NBA in carrier deals. Zed has relationships with more than 130 operators. The multiyear deal covers the US, and key parts of Europe and Asia. “What we’ve done here with Zed is achieve a much greater sense of scale, particularly in some countries internationally that are very important to us,” said Attila Gazdag, NBA senior vice president of global media distribution.
