CTIA: NBC takes Greystripe games

US media giant to offer ad-supported mobile games through its online channels.

NBC Universal has inked a deal with Greystripe to distribute over 900 free games through its mobile and web properties.

Additionally, Greystripe will distribute NBC games based on the Bravo and SciFi Channel brands through 99 other mobile distribution partners.

NBC says the partnership reinforces its expanding commitment to mobile content, including games and cross-platform content distribution for Java-enabled handsets and the iPhone.

Greystripe claims it is currently offering more than 900 ad-funded games and apps from 120 publishers, generating 90 million downloads to date through both its own and third party channels.

Salil Dalvi, SVP of mobile platform development at NBC Universal Digital Distribution, said: “NBCU has made a strategic commitment to offer the highest quality mobile content and cutting edge distribution models. We are pleased to partner with Greystripe, as they allow NBCU to expand our gaming and ad sales efforts.”
