But there may be legal troubles ahead...
Tech startup Fusion Garage maintains it will begin taking pre-orders for the device formerly known as CrunchPad this Friday, despite the legal fallout with its former partner TechCrunch.
The 12-inch touchscreen tablet has been renamed JooJoo, following the news last week that the two companies had fallen out just days before the device was due to be officially unveiled.
TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington had his say in a stinging blog post, but now Fusion Garage boss Chandrasekar Rathakrishnan has hit back in an online videoconference with journalists.
"Michael made many promises suggesting he will deliver on hardware, software and funding, none of which came true. We had to move on," he says. "Michael did not deliver on his promises, and we decided to move on our own."
The battle over the device is in the hands of the lawyers, though, which could delay its launch. However, if it does come to market, it's an intriguing device for mobile entertainment.

"We don’t boot to an operating system," says Rathakrishnan. "We boot directly to the Internet."
