Newspaper group also granting a free month of access to existing readers
The Times will update its iPad app in the next couple of weeks to include interactive crosswords (cryptic and concise), a weekly property section and daily themed supplements.
In a mailout to readers, the paper also said it would be granting a further 30 day free iPad app subscription as a 'thank you' and in light of the fact that 'some of the editorial features you've been waiting for haven't yet been included'.
At the end of the free 30 days, readers will be presented with options to purchase their next subscription.
The Times launched its iPad app amidst a cacophony of hype three months ago - it costs £9.99 to download, and the same charge will be billed every 28 days.
